I started with Monadelphous in 2013 as a Graduate Engineer on the Graduate Program. I’ve had the opportunity to work on so many different types of projects across many different locations, while being supported every step of the way.
From mining and minerals projects in the Pilbara, to waste water refurbishment programs in New South Wales and sewer upgrades in New Zealand, it’s not all been glamourous but the experience and learnings are irrefutable.
I always keep an open mind, try new things, jump at opportunities when they present themselves and work through each day with a smile on my face – I’d say that’s been the catalyst to the range of project exposure I’ve been fortunate enough to have at Monadelphous, and made my journey here what it has been.
Being promoted to Project Manager is one of my greatest achievements, I love what I do, I get to work with people who share my passion and drive. The sense of achievement you get when you are a part of a project from start to finish, is second to none. Continuous improvement and using achievements as opportunities to be better the next time, continuing to learn and striving to deliver safely and efficiently is what motivates me.
It’s certainly not a boring ride, it’s always interesting. Opportunity is everywhere; if you recognise it and grab hold of it you certainly won’t get pigeonholed. It’s one of the beauties of Monadelphous, working across so many industries with many different customers, the opportunities feel endless.
I get to meet and work with so many great people, both internally and external to Monadelphous. We build strong, lasting relationships and there’s a genuine care about each other both in and out of work. I’d say integrity is one of our strongest values, we hold ourselves and each other accountable, we have mutual respect and we deliver what we promise, that’s what makes us different.
