After completing his trade in Sydney, Eddie embarked on a new adventure in Western Australia's construction industry, joining Monadelphous in 2004 as a Pipe Fitter on the Rio Tinto Expansion in Yandicoogina. Eddie returned in 2007 for the Newman Hub Project and again in 2015 with Monadelphous as a Piping Superintendent on the INPEX MEC-2 LNG Project and the Kemerton Lithium Project. His transition to the Perth head office saw him assisting on the Western Turner 2 Shutdown, where he took an opportunity to become a planner by completing a P6 Fundamentals Course, a shift for him into planning and project controls.
Today, Eddie is a Planning Superintendent, finding his transition from site-based construction to project controls both challenging and rewarding. Over his seven years, he has become an integral part of the EC projects team and has taken many opportunities to upskill and develop professionally.
Eddie emphasises the importance of trust and to be able to rely on each other is critical for a strong team. He appreciates the quality time he is now able to spend with family and friends.
Looking ahead, Eddie is looking forward to continue making a positive impact in the project controls space, and we look forward to seeing his future contributions to engineering.
